Hi,
doin' some experiment on Xvid encoding with ffmpegX I noticed something strange: everytime the movie presents a scene with a slow movement of the camera (orizzontally or vertically, doesn't matter...), the same scene on the resulting AVI jerks along!
I'm not talkin' about the tipical noise of interlaced sources... No, it's something different, like the camera on the movement (I think that on "cinema-language" you say *tracking*) was moved suddendly and regularly (the visual effect is similar to a stop-and-go movement...)
I tried different settings (also with Divx presets) but the problem remains.
I think that the problem is due to the DEINTERLACE option: in fact it happens only when I try to scale down the format (640x480, and so on...) and deinterlace the movie (if I try to encode the same movie on full D1 format - 720x576 - and interlaced, leavin' all the other options untouched, the scene with the camera tracking moves flawlessly!).
Anyone noticed a problem like mine?
P.s.: one thing more, I don't know why but I noticed that this problem is more evident on ANIME source material than on "live cinema"...
