  1. Hi there,

I have ulead vs 8 and dvd workshop. I'd like to record a voiceover audio track for my video, and then giver viewers the choice to add my voiceover or have the original audio with the video, just like in professional movie studio dvds with director's commentaries.

Is there anyway to do that with these software? If not, what software do you recommend?

Remember, I want to give viewers the choice, not have my warbly voice ontop by default!

Sincere thanks to anybody who can help me,

    Joss Frimond

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm about to... Just record your commentary while watching the footage. Try to get a clean recording, if you can. (ie. watch your TV set with the sound down, while talking into a mike connected to your computer.) Then import your video sound into Audacity (free) and then import your commentary too. Sync 'em up (you shouldn't need to). Adjust volumes, etc. "Save As".

Re-combine with your avi into dvd etc.

Then mix 'em up & say goodnight!

You can add several selectable audio tracks in ulead dvd workshop. Check the help how to do it.

What you have VS 8 does that fine. In edit project mode there are two more sound track lines on the time line. One for music and one for voice. You can record as you are watching the video and it will voiceover, but leave the original audio. It is very easy to use.

Yes but it's not switchable then. If Joss has the newer DVD Workshop, that'll do it.
