    look for the colored ballons at the hanging -- since these were not invented untill the 1930's and colored ones not untill the 50's ..

    there is an extra hour of footage that was cut at the last minute (as well as replacing the whole music score) - look for a directors cut maybe in the future ...

    I sure could have used it. I thought the priest fought Daniel Day-Lewis' gangs to make the neighborhood a better place. Can anyone explain to me the purpose of leaving blood on the priest's razor?

    Yes, it was. The son was going to remove the blood, but the priest said not to. Then the priest said that one day the son would understand. I must have missed the part where the son finally understood.

    I think Marty was under too much pressure to cut the movie down to 2.5 hrs, hence the many questions the plot never answers.

    Daniel Day Lewis was terrific, but the rest of the cast sucked.

    I like Dicrapio in The Aviator, but I thought Scorcesee had lost it casting Dicrapio in Gangs.

    I will rewatch and then judge, maybe Crapio is a good actor.
