  1. I'm currently using a trial version of an authoring app that uses this approach. I am having littel success making this work. I am using GIMP and I understand how to make layers. However, whe I import my .psd file I never seem to be able to see the BMP image I used as a background. I used a simple "ramdom bubbles" bitmap from windows or one of Roxio's products I have. I'll post a picture later, but my .bmp file just seems to turn all black. I've fooled around with transparency and the order which I added the layers, but nothing but frustration...

  5. Hello.
I'm not sure how Gimp works.
I think you may need to familiarize yourself with Raster Layers and Alpha Channels , I think this is where you are making the Mistakes.

    Just a thought.

I actually figured this out. I'll post a review soon. What a product this "Gimp" is. I'm very impressed. Why does anyone buy Photoshop?
