I have a Toshiba DVD recorder in my Compaq presario Laptop. It supports DVD+R/RW DVDs. I was trying to write DVD-R and was failing with the obvious error of not recognizing the DVD.
Is it possible to Wrier/Record DVD-R with DVD recorder that supports DVD+R/RW format?
Thanks,
Sum

What's the exact model number of our laptop and burner? Usually if a drive only supports one format, it will not be able to write to the other, like you discovered. I do remember reading that some drives could be made to use both with a firmware upgrade; maybe this is possible for your particular burner.
