  1. i extracted an mkv file using mkvextractgui and converted the acc audio into wav using aacdecdrop. All was successful until i converted the wav file into ac3 using BeSweetGUI.

When i compiled a dvd (DVDlab pro) using that ac3 file, the video plays fine but the audio is fastforward? anyone know why?

    codec: ac3
    bitrate: 384 kbps
    channel 5.1
    sampling rate 48 khz

When i input another audio into "audio 2", it plays normally.

    codec: ac3
    bitrate: 384 kbps
    channel 2
    sampling rate 48 khz

  2. ok i think the problem is when i converted the wav file into ac3, during the conversion, it somehow set on to fastforward, anyone know why?

Could be because the aac was he aac which you decoded to wav without the sbr part so half samplerate (24KHz), then when you converted to 48KHz it simply plays double time.

Easy enough to check.. What is the sample rate of the wav?

  5. I tried using the ffmpeggui to convert the thing to ac3, but it failed for some reason.

celtic_druid: The wav was 22khz, how would i go on converting the aac file to 48khz?

I also tried using faad to convert the aac file to wav. It turns out the file size is twice as much as when i used aacdecdrop. Sampling rate: 44khz but i can't seem to convert that to ac3. weird.

  6. what u have to do is use AAC Drop

it will make a wav & then use another program to convert to wav again. thats what i do

@zero_net, they already ussed AACdrop and it treated the file as 22KHz lc aac when it is obviously 44KHz he aac. My advice would be to directly decode the mkv using mplayer, although when I tried extracting raw he aac from a mkv it decoded fine, despite the lack of a header indicating that the file was he aac.

The 22KHz file should sound like crap without the SBR part. Like decoding an mp3 pro file with a regular mp3 decoder.

  8. yes,

the wav that aac drop gives you is screwed up. mine r anyways.

I always have to convert the wav into wav again with a seperate program.

  9. I have no clue on how to use that mplayer program so i took zero_net's advice and re convert the wav to wav.
thanks a lot, everything seems to be working now.
