Whenever I encode from DVD to AVI using Xvid codec, the resulting avi looks fine until I come to scenes with high motion. Then the video suffers from a bad case of the "jaggies" and appears sort of jumpy or blurry; it develops noticable horizontal lines that make it appear interlaced.
There are so many options to configure within the codec and no one seems to really understand them...other than setting motion search precision to 6 (currently set to 5) I am at a loss for what to do.
Do I enable chroma motion or GMC or both? I've read that I should be careful with some options because they are still beta and therefore buggy
I am using two pass encoding and virtual dub.
HELP!!

Follow this guide (and NOTE the parts about INTERLACED material) and also note this guide is for the xvid 0.91 codec (which is probably the best for general usage and .avi enabled DVD players and gives excellent results).
