    Is there a way to use my Sony Digital 8 as webcam? I am thinking the picture quality will be better than most webcams. I can see myself when connected to Firewire using WinDV but I could not figure out how messenger can detect it. I already configure and edit the Registry as suggested to no avail. I swear I saw an ad for a camcorder which can double as webcam. I'm hoping there is hardware or software remedy for this. Thanks.

    Make sure you install the sony software that cam with the camcorder.

    My 4-year old camcorder only transfer pictures from memory stick via USB. No video streaming except iLink. I will try an analog capture using my old Dazzle USB module.
