DVD+R DL question

Hi there,

my dvd burner is supposedly a Dual DVD +/- Burner(I have an averatec 3200series) and I'm using verbatim dvd+r dl's and I wanted to burn home videos onto it with menus and stuff, and the computer doesn't even recognize the disc is in there! I tested it out first with a regular 4.7 and it burned but obviously left some stuff out, but to get it all I thought it would work with this double layer disc and now the computer doesn't acknowledge its existence... am I missing something here? any input is appreciated! thanks!

depends what software you use to burn.
try using dvd decrypter v3.5.2.0 and use iso read,iso write.then try to burn that way with dvd decrypter,its free,and youll see it in the tools section

are you using xp,or another OS.?
my kids pc,doesnt recognise +r discs,on the burner they have,but if you stick the disc in and try to burn,it works,just seems to be a big in her OS.

I've been using roxio drag to disc... I forgot to mention. and windows xp... it worked fine with the other dvd-r... I will see what happens here... thanks

even the decrypter doesn't recognize it.... hmmmmmmmm....

check the specs of your laptop burner with dvdinfopro
dual does not necessarily mean dual layer
it often refers to dual format +/-

Funny, before you posted this i was thinking about adding a "BAN ROXIO" logo to my avatar!!!
I just saw another post yesterday where someone could not figure out why decrypter or something was not working until they got rid of "roxio" then it worked
And i hated their programs way back when cd-r's were the only thing being done
