Hi there.
I have a Jetway PCI TV card (I believe its the JW-TV 878M) which so far I've been using for capturing AVI clips. I've been trying to experiment with capturing mpeg clips, but have been having many curious and bizzarre problems doing so.
The Jetway card came bundled with WinDVR and WinCinema editing suite. After capturing Mpeg clips using either WinDVR or Wincoder the recorded clip either plays without sound or simply crashes windows media player depending on the sound setting during capture.
The other curious problem is that if I try to convert a captured AVI file to an mpeg using Winproducer it won't let me do so (the "create video file" option wont display), whereas if i convert it using Wincoder the finished Mpeg just crashes Windows media player (again).
I believe I have the latest drivers for my Jetway card, which I downloaded from their website and I believe my PC is upto spec. Anyone got any ideas what the problem could be or how to resolve it?
I've got my PC specs listed on my profile if you want to check.
Thanks in advance!

Hmmm it seems my problem has you all stumped, well here's a quick update.
I installed a trial version of Ulead media pro7. But when I tried to use it it said it couldn't load up due to the cature drivers not being found, as they either hadn't been installed or where in use by another device. Which I don't understand.
However, the GOOD news is that since installing Ulead, WINDVR and Wincoder are now working fine, and am able to play back MPEG videoclips that don't crash and have sound.
Go figure? -
I have a Jetway card too.... I had the same problem. I unistalled the winDVD software and went with capturing AVI using Virtualdub and then encoding with Tmpgenc.... no problems from that point on.

Hmmm, seems that either the jetway card or the WinDVR software is a bit buggy.
I can only gather that when I installed the Ulead software it obviously added some additonal codecs/drivers or whatever which weren't loaded with the Jetway or Intervideo software that it needs to work properly.
I'd still love to know what it was caused this though so I know what to do if they occur again.
