  1. I want to back up some PC games I have with various forms of copy protection on them, such as Securom and SafeDisc. What is the best CD or DVD burner for the job. I've heard Lite-on and Plextor so far but want a few more opinions. Also is there a better software for this as well? Right now I have an NEC 1100a which sucks for copys protections and I have Alcohol 120% and Blindwrite. I can get Disc Juggler and Gamejack if neccessary.

  4. I think Plextor Premium is one that can do one of those protections that no other can do. You should post over at cdfreaks.com forum. you can also not worry about it and use no CD exes.

  5. Thanks for the input I'll check out the CDFreaks forums. Some of these games don't have patched EXEs available for them I'm afraid.

  8. I ended up with a Lite-on which has been fine so far. The Plextor Premium sounded really nice until you start reading a lot of forum posts that say while it does and excellent job with copy protections, a lot of the time the PP is the only drive you can play those discs back on. The Lite-on drives on the other hand make disc that are compatible with a larger variety of other drives.
