Hi,
I rather confused..Actually how many type of 'CDI' for the VCD?
Recently I try to backup one of my VCD since the original has a lot of scratches and expected it'll refuse to play one day.
Not metter how I try, one of the file I couldn't copy over. It's a CDI file name as; 'CDI_IMAG', 1.475m size and file name is 'rich text format'.
When I dragged or copy over to my HDD, an error message prompted; 'cannot copy CDI_IMAG:Invalid MS-DOS function'.
Appreciated if anyone can advise me what to do..I read some threads but none of them touch this topic. Did I miss something?

Attached 2 pic that has prompted error message. Not sure they are able to be enclosed...

You probably don't need this file, if you are trying to back up your VCD. Just make sure you get all of the files from the AVSEQ folder, and the SEGMENT folder (if there is one) and i would just re-author the disc for the backup copy.
Or, if poss, just use Nero's "copy cd" option. Though I doubt you could use this, if you have files that won't copy...asdf -
Hi,
Thx for your valuable feedback guys; vcd4ever & iThinkYouBrokeIt.
You are right 'iThinkYouBrokeIt', Nero couldn't copy that file!It seems has some kind of protection on....?
May be I'll try it on safe mode....
So...I could just run my backup VCD without this file, right?I will try it out on the CD-RW 1st bf I really burn in to the CD-R.
You can took at look of these links. I guess you couldn't see the pic I posted early.

VCDs are not CD-ROMs. If you are pulling files off a VCD, then you need to reauthor it (not just drag them back onto a CD-R as a CD-ROM).
You should just use any good burning program to do a DAO CD Copy.
You may have trouble reading "files" off the VCD because parts of it may be damaged. The files on a VCD are just "pointers" in the filesystem to the actually underlying physical structure of the disc (which is why you can't just "copy the files"). Some of these files are burn in Mode2 Form2 sectors that do not have ECC (error correction code) like CD-ROMs which mean that you are much more likely to get uncorrectable sectors.

Hi vitualis,

This particular VCD, I also tried to burn it with Nero on DAO but was kicked out. After a few times of trying, I was stucked @ no where. -
