    Hello,

Hey Flaystus - (and other Texans):

Remember those wicked STARS vs WINGS playoff matches in the 90s??????

Those were excellent matchups. I remember back when LAPOINTE was still on the WINGS he'd get into battles with BELFOUR Couple a times there old EDDIE THE EAGLE would whack him right between the nuts with his GOALIE STICK! OUCH!

    Ahh.... the good old days....

Oh speaking of DALLAS - was BRETT HULL'S GOAL real against the Sabres when they won the cup in 99????? Remember that SABRES fan who had the website www.nogoal.com??? I think he had to take it down or strip it back because he use NHL material without permission......

  4. I used to follow hockey in the 80's when Gretzky played on the Kings but now I couldn't care less.
My motto regarding sports is:"if the game can end in a tie,I'm not watching it"...same with soccer(football).

    Hello,

Man those tie games can be just as exciting as 9-7 shootouts....

Like I've said the tight-nit games just up the pressure on each and every shot.....

I remember a wings playoff game a few years ago where they were on a power play but were pretty timid. Then the fans in the JOE kept shouting "SHOOT THE PUCK" And you know they started pouring it on like the wings of old...

  6. I feel there is NOTHING more borring than watching a defense dominated game. 0-1 is fine every once in a while, that's all some teams got but when every team is doing it... it's borring.

Give me the NHL of the 80's. 3GA average for goalies was considered good. You were NOT a goal scorer if you didn't have 50+ goals a year.

All the clutching and grabing is killing the sport. I'm a goalie and I want to see more scoring.

    Hello,

More scoring???? Ok but you know they'll never drop the trap completely....

I remember when the WINGS were high flying shooters in the early 90's. They couldn't win in the playoffs. That's why they grabbed BOWMAN and implemented the LEFT WING LOCK. DEFENSE wins Chamionships.... Not SCORING.....

Look at football. The COLTS were supposed to whip the PATRIOTS. But the PATRIOTS shut them down and limited them to 3 points. Why???? DEFENSE. No way around it.....

As long as its been and as long as the season seems maybe they should just call it an extended next season and start playing now.

If you really look over my post here, and among other unnamed sites you'll see I'm FAR FAR FAR from the typical Texan.

That being said Hockey is the only sport I like watching, a roommate got me into the game a few years back. I don't get to watch often however because of the whole working nights thing.

And yeah, Hockey has a pretty decent following in Texas.

Who gives a shit! Why pay to watch a bunch of people play a game? It is more fun to get out and play the game yourself, even a half assed group of drunks that can't manage to keep score will have more fun.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

Well there is ALOT of people here in Canada that don't care if there is a season. So I find it hard to believe that Texas has got people that actually care.

Most Cdns don't care NHL season cancelled: poll
    CTV.ca News Staff

Even if the NHL manages to put together an agreement to lure back its players, it seems the league will face another uphill battle -- winning back fans.

Ipsos-Reid conducted a poll with CTV and The Globe and Mail which found the majority of Canadians, 68 per cent, say they don't care that the 2004-2005 NHL season has been cancelled.

Those most likely to say they didn't care about the cancelled season are residents of Atlantic Canada (73 per cent), Quebec (71 per cent) and Ontario (69 per cent). Respondents over 35 years of age and women were also more likely to say they didn't care.

Interestingly, mourners of the 2004-05 NHL season are most likely to come from Western Canada -- British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. They're also more likely to be younger, male Canadians (aged 18-34).

The poll also found that Canadians are siding with the owners in the ongoing battle for the hearts and minds of the public.

Respondents were asked: Based on what you have seen, read or heard, who do you think is most to blame for the season being cancelled?

Forty-eight per cent of Canadians put the blame on "players and their leadership," while 27 per cent said "owners and their leadership" are most to blame. Twenty-one per cent of respondents said both the players and owners were to blame.

Those Canadians most likely to blame the "players and their leadership" include residents of Alberta, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Younger Canadians were also more likely to blame players.

On the other hand, residents of British Columbia were most likely to blame "owners and their leadership" followed by residents of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Those with an annual household income of less than $30,000 were also more likely to blame owners for the lockout.
