showshifter 3.11, how to capture mpeg1/2

i just downloaded the trial version of showshifter 3.11. everything look s great except i cannot seem to caputre mpeg 1 or 2

I go to compression settings > and i look at profile for recording and all it has is various quality mpjeg, couple of others like low los high frame etc , wmv and the rest is radio. So no choice for mpeg1 or 2

so i go to copmression profiles to try to create my own and i add a new profile on the left and on the right under "file format" i choose showshifter mpeg (this seem to be the only thing close to mpeg recording). when i select it, underneath it says "selected compresor is incompatible with this format, choose another" so i click on the little hammer sign to adit the setting sfor this profile, but under compressor section there is nothing listed for me to choose and i cannot leave it blank.

I have a less capable capture program that came with tmy card that does mpeg1 and 2 capture so i know it is possible but cannot figure it out with showshifter

please give me any advise u can

Showshifter only does MPEG recordings if you have an MPEG Hardware encoder card. If you have a regular analog card you can only capture in MJPEG AVI or DIVX.
