  4. Import your menu. Set it as background in the menu in dvdlab.
Click the hotspot button, draw a box around the spot you want to use for a link, then link it to something.

  7. The text won't be hilighted, the hotspot box will.
If you want text hilighting, don't put any text on your Photoshop menu, use DVDLab's text tool instead.
The other option is to save a multi-layer image. Not sure if Photoshop can do that, and I've never played with it.

I create my menus in Photoshop. Try this for a simple menu

    1. Create background (duh)
    2. Add text layer "play", rasterise
    3. Duplicate text layer
    4. Merge first text layer to background.
    5. Save as PSD file

When you load this into DVD Lab Pro, the remaining text layer will become the subpicture for the Play menu choice. Link this to the start of your movie and you're done.

If you have multiple buttons, follow the same process, with each button having it's own layer in the PSD for subpictures. I have a series of actions I use which adjust the style prior to merging, and create the new layers.

DVD Lab will keep the layers, but you only need one layer for each link. Any layer than is not linked to an asset will be merged by DVD Lab when you compile, while the linked layers will become subpictures. I prefer to do the merging in Photoshop.

Play around with it and see what suits you.
