  1. hi all,

i wanna know under the "cpu setting" option i check the box "use multi-thread" but i have no idea should i check all the boxes under "multi-thread setting"?

i just dunno exactly what "enable pipeline", "enables pipeline for motion search" and "prefetch video" means... should i check them all for faster encoding time? if so, then in the "prefetch video", how much mb is okay? and should i enable the "check free space"?

i know this is too much questions but i really have no idea so please gimme a hand!

    my system:
    dual p3 975mhz 150fsb
    1.5g pc133@150
    wd 7200rpm raid 0 (40g total)

actually, that is a good question, I just upgraded to an amd 1600xp, do I need to check anything to take advantage of the sse on the chip or does tmpenc do that automatically?

  3. huh? no one willing to help?

what i did is just check every box... mmx,sse... everything, and in the lower part, pipeline, prefetch, everything again! i tried to encode a 7 mins mpeg2 -> vcd, my experiment show the "pipeline for motion search" must have be checked, this one cut the encoding time almost half!

for the other boxes, really seems not too important (correct me if u have different result)... and i cannot obtain any improvement by chosing the prefetch option, maybe the mb there should be higher ther greater improvment?

guys, just drop a line of your multi-thread settings if you are using dual cpu, thanks anyway!

Me too! I would also like to know the settings. I seem to get a read error half way through an encoding process. Anyone else have encoding problems in TMPGEnc?

Who has been successful? What settings are you using?
