I love those RSS feeds - Wouldn't it be cool with "New/updated tool at VideoHelp" scrolling by in the status bar? Maybe even new topics, or (the best) alerts for new posts in topics I'm watching (not sure if the latter is at all possible,as it has to be personalized).

Is that for the tool/software itself or the effort involved? If it is the tool can you elaborate on what could be on offer?

Jeezuz! It's just an XML document, and well documented at that. I'm sure it can be hacked even in PHP. (Was thinking about RSS for a customer site - that's why I got interested in the technology, but the professional me is all .net, I'm afraid - else I'd gradly donate my efforts (if it comes to that))

That's where I've been looking too. Yes, 0.91 is easier to create, but once you dive into 1.0, it's not that much more complex.

Here's another one, standalone, that puts a scrolling banner at the screen edge (top, left, right or bottom). Also free, no malware attached, AFAIK.
