    Hi

Using DVDShrink I notice that even if I compress the mpeg with 40-50 percents the picture still look fantastic on the TV screen. From here I would like to compress two mpeg files that used to occupy one DVD each and author them with 50 percents on one disk.

I’m using DVD-lab to author it, how can I compress each mpeg file?

    Thanks
    S

If you are happy with 50% compression, use reauthor in DVD Shrink to grab the movies from both disks, then shrink to fit.

  4. If you don't want to use DVDshrink to author, the use the VOB file in TmpGenc DVD author. Author your DVD oversize (9Gb max size), then use DVDshrink to bring it down to the sieze of a DVDr. If you don't like this idea, you will need to extract the original mpegs from the DVD's (if you don't have them as mpegs or some other format) and re-encode with a lower bitrate, then author and burn.

I wouldn't do it at all, frankly, but the man/woman said they were happy with the output of a 50% Shrink, so why not. It's easy, they have the software, and they have used it before.

Personally, I can't imaging the quality of two movies on one DVD5 would be that great, even using something like rebuilder.
