ok, I have a Dazzle Digital Video Creator 150, It comes with Pinnacle Studio plus. What Im trying to do is take my captured video from vhs and make a dvd. I seem to go through all the steps OK, but when I actually make the dvd the first few minutes of my movie stutters, but the sound is ok. I did the web update to their software and think I have all the settings right. Is there an issue here that Im not aware of? I shut down all unneccesary processes and now I am at a loss. Thank you for any replies!

If at first you don't succeed; call it version 1.0

Since you are from the US, please check your video format. It should be NTSC i.e. 29.97 fps.

I will tell you this and only once. If you just bought your Dazzle, return it without hesitation. Crap software bundled with a crap (hot running) piece of hardware. There are literally thousands of users who bought the "150" including myself and found out just how useless that package was and a waste of hard earned cash. My 2 cents. Type in "Dazzle" in the search column and look under "capture cards" also. You will quickly see what I mean. And oh go to their own web forum as well. Join the believers!

Try using another DVD authoring app to see if it occurs. Check your captured masterial playability first be4 you make a DVD.
As to the drivers, it is beyond discussion that Dazzle has a history of making some utter crap. They do work... not always though. -
Hi,
search this forums for dvexcel. Its a very simple program that comes together with the old drivrpackage.
Capturing with it will normally give excellent quality of your videos.
To edit and burn I suggest you use tmpg dvd author.
I converted > 200 VHS and it worked very well.greetings

for those who replied I just want you to know I agree with dumping pinnacle 100%! Trouble is Im very busy and I bought this thing 1 hour and 45 minutes away, so my thoughts were to see if I can get this thing to work. I called Pinnacle and they told me I didnt have my activation key entered for MPEG2. Now that I have it entered I am going to give it another go. I also must say when I started this topic i forgot to mention that everything goes good except for the first 2 minutes the video is choppy, after that it all looks great. If it werent for the first 2 minutes being crappy, Id say this was a good package deal for the money, but lets face it..I seen too many bad words about them to not believe it. I also must say that capture goes great...looks good too before actually authoring it. Its there I seem to be having the problem, but it does go through all the steps and burns the disk. If anyone has any other apps I can use WITH this capture device I would also love to hear it. Oh...whats the differance between a 16:9 and a 4:3 aspect ratio? Which one should I be using?

The "first two minutes" issue sounds like it could be tape problem. Were you watching while it captured? Harsh experience teaches that sometimes what looks fine on a TV doesn't come out so fine in the conversion process.
-
well it happens with 2 different tapes! Looked good while I captured and even when it was done capturing and me just watching it. This happens AFTER I add the transitions (if any) and author it.
