  1. I have used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to convert dozens of movie files I've downloaded off the web into .M2V and .WAV files. I've run into one that TMPGEnc can't seem to handle though. Most of the files I've converted were .avi files, but I've been able to convert a couple of .mpg files too. Anyway, when I tried with this particular file, the audio file that's created is nothing but silence. I used the same settings I have for every other file I've tried to convert, but for some reason this time it won't work.

In this instance, I actually only want the audio. I don't intend to make a DVD movie out of it. I just want to burn the .wav file to a CD so I can listen to it in my car. Is there a different program I can use to extract just the audio? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  2. Extract it in virtualdub.
    Audio, full processing.
    File, Save .wav

Hey. Thanks for the reply. I actually tried VirtualDub and that didn't work. I got an error saying "No audio decrompressor could be found to decompress the source audio format". Any ideas?

    Hello,

You could do it as mp3. Get lamemp3 and unzip it into your virtualdub directory. Than you can use any quality mp3 up to 320kb.
