This is something I really aughtta know, but apparently I missed this particular topic in my billions of computer installs, reworks, upgrades. Wasn't sure where to post it, except here.
I'm seeking out the perfect capture system, and it seems I can do everything I require using the Huffy codec. Well, as you all know, the Huffy codec is lossless. Lossless means uncompressed. Uncompressed means I NEED HARD DRIVE SPACE!
I'm looking for an 80-100GB sized drive to capture on, and have at least a couple hours worth at a time.
To make a long story short: I'd like to swap my drives around. I want to eliminate one drive, copy its contents to another hard drive. The catch is that both hard drives I have, Windows is installed on them. Can I somehow copy the WHOLE contents of a drive to another, including the Windows install?
Here's what I have now:
C: Windows XP, 12GB drive
D: Windows 2000, 40GB drive
X: (new drive), 80+ GB
What I want to do:
C: (sell)
D: Old C: Contents (XP)
X: Old D: Contents (2000)
Can a whole drive be moved to another of different size/partition, yet preserve a Windows boot? Or even dual-boot?
Thanks...

here's what i would do since my experiance in PC's is limited. Back-up everything. Format, then re-install....i do this at least once a month.. clean slate for everything to work with.....takes me about 2 hours topps.....
