Have 2 x 700meg Divx 3 low motion files (Gspot) which I want to join and convert to MPEG2 to burn a DVD. What is the best way to do this ?

Also the sound volume is very low on these files, how do I correct this ?

Extract it from the source file, load into almost any audio editor (I use goldwave) and increase it there. Save as wav, use this wav file as the audio source when you encode.

You can increase the volume in Virtual dub. Click audio, volume. You have to use "full processing mode" to do this. Check the software you are using to encode to mpeg or to Author the dvd. Some software will allow you to do this without doing the extra step.

If you're gonna join them before use Virtualdub (avi).
Myself I encode to mpeg then use my authoring program to add the files. Tmpgenc dvd author is easy to use and does a really good job.
