Has anyone else had this problem of winavi freezing in the middle of a conversion, usually about 50 to 60 percent into the job. It's not a batch conversion I'm trying to do, just one file at a time. I have the latest version - 6.3. I'm running it on a pent4 2.8GHZ cpu with half a gig of memory and xp home edition. It doesn't matter what avi I'm converting, it locks up every time. Shame too because it's a fast program. It's happened whether converting to DVD or SVCD. And I've checked the avi's...no errors in them. Can anyone help please?

Checked your CPU temperature?

Well would that cause just one application to lock up? It's not the whole computer, it's just that application.

A corrupt avi, a missing codec, a poorly written piece of code, not enough hard drive space, the list goes on. Winavi just has too many bugs.

The avi files are fine, the codecs are fine. I have 200 gigs of hard drive space so that's fine. It's just a shame, the program is so fast and delivers good enough quality for me. Again, if anyone's had this problem and can help, thanks.

It's commercial software, have you considered contacting the manufacturer?
