Well, you are in my neck of the woods (so to speak) so where can I get a Cyberhome 1600 for $60? I haven't seen a one and boxing day sales are on in less than 11 hours....

Then again...checking problems with that particular unit (as listed on this site) as well as the financial problems (allegedly) from that company why take the risk even for 60 bucks?

That's why I didn't buy one. The Cyberhomes seem to be problematic at best. This deal is from one of those shady Toronto Yonge St chopshops that sell discounted electronics. I don't remember the name, but I can tell you the immediate area if you PM me.

The store "claimed" to offer an instore warranty and did mention that the company was going out of business, before I asked. So credit to them for offering that information up front.

    Follow up:

The DRX-9200 has big problems: for starters it's a exact copy of the Mustek R100LB. (press RETURN, DISPLAY, 8,8,8,9)

The autochapter function didn't work, so I got a R100A firmware update.
This fixed the autochapter problem, but made 10 other problems.

Now the only thing the unit is good for is making dvds from inputs.

It gets very hot, I now leave it unpluged, till needed.

If someone gets a R100LB firmware, please send it.

Anyone tried the Venturer model at Wal-Mart Canada for $85CAD? Looks like a 5001 but can't be sure as they don't have one hooked up. I have 2 working 5001 clones so I don't need another....
