  1. Adding subtitles to a dvd is not (yet?) possible, if the input is a VIDEO_TS folder, right?
So what would be the easiest way to do so, wthout re-encoding?

(i've tried many things, eg. by creating one single VOB file, and then author it together with a .srt file, but i get 'unrecognized format' )

    thanks for any help

  2. You should need a MPG file, to author it with the SRT subtitles without reencoding.

  3. Ok, thanks for the fast reply,
the obvious next questions is: how do i get this mpg file, starting with a VIDEO_TS folder?

can i use the combined VOB file for that, and convert that one with ffmpeg?
i tried that, but i get an .mpv file with no audio.
Which settings should i use in ffmpeg?

    thanks again

  4. Try to demux the VOB file, and remux it as MPG.
