    I recently found that a DVDR I burned had pauses between each of the chapters as if changing between layers on a DVD-9. Can anyone explain why this happens and what (if anything) I can do to remove the pauses?

    Are they real chapters, or a bunch of video put end to end ?

    when I rip to the hard drive the dvd structure looks real enough with the vobs and everything. There are over 20 chapters and not that many files so I guess they're proper chapters.
