fireware update for Lite-on LVW 5101

I have the Lite-On LVW 5101 desktop DVD Recorder I purchased from Samsclub. I downloaded the firmware update and followed directions on burning to cd disc and finallized it as told. But my liteon recorder does not reconize the disc.. I had my son do the same as I did using his burning program..but same results that I got. I hope someone is able to help me with this problem.

What burning software did you use to burn the cd? The disc has to be burned in cdrom iso mode.

I used recordnow and also tryed burn4 free. They both are set to finalize the disc like the update said.

try using NERO BURN to burn. they have a trial you could download.

i hav liteon lvw 5101 since begin clock goes too fast,but after 1 yr on I get a big problem ; If I record onto +/-R disc & a week later try to record more since 1/2 disc empty when i put into recoreder it will not reconize disc ,recorder says blank disc even data is on disc ? I am trying to find the update of firmware but no luck on liteon site? where to get update plz help

If you just bought your Lite-on you should take it back and get your money back...it is a piece of junk...mine died a few months after I bought it...and from many other reviews on Lite-on they agree with me...Well good luck with yours if you keep it, I really do wish you the best...I bought a Panasonic and love it and have had it for a couple years now.

If the unit was working ok before and now does not, why do you feel a firmware upgrade would correct it
