    does anyone know where to get the firmware for toshiba SD-R5112 so it will allow me to burn DVD-Rs at 4X.

    Don't complain about it being in Russian, scroll down to where it says 'H2H - hack Toshiba SD-R5112 firmware' and follow the instructions, it's not that hard (it can even be done in Windows).
