  1. I upgraded the firmware on my LDW-411S and when I did, I can no longer "Backup!" DVDs; the encoding fails. of course, i dont have the old firmware lying around. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions so i could burn DVDs. I also tried ripping with DVD Decrypter but it doesnt compress the ISO so then it wont fit on a DVD.

Get a virtual drive like Daemon tools or Alcohol 120%

Mount the ISO in the virtual drive then then open in shrink
    snappy phrase

    I don't know what you're talking about.

  6. You can't use Shrink straight from the disc? Have you ripped the disc to the hard drive first then, using Shrink or DVD Decrypter?

i would try a re install, make sure you clean all reference to dvdshrink in the registry

then install a fresh version, if that dosnt work

install an older version of dvdshrink

  12. ok that works but the functionality is terrible. i cant make it to an .iso and burn with dvd decrypter, nor can it open an iso. its better than nothing so i definitely appreciate the help but is there anything you can suggest doing to get 3.2 working? what with the registry?

  13. Get Daemon Tools to mount ISOs and IMG Tools Classic to create them. Once mounted, navigate to the virtual drive and open with whatever. Classic can make an Iso from a folder within which are your VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders. I use them all the time, you shouldn't be without them. Good luck.

P.S. Rejig is a good transcoder too.

get a better dvd burner for starters. i own a liteon 411 drive that i converted to a 811. i use it just to do some kprobe scans. or get a dvdrom to do the ripping for you. it would be helpful if you filled out the computer specs. then others could help you out. more info from you is needed.

Oh, another way eould be to rip in DVD Decrypter "File mode", instead of ISO mode.

Then open files in shrink instead of open disk.
