Hi Guys, Had a break from converting but throwing myself back into it know but have a quick question in regards to TMPG. I was using TMPG v12d but now notice we are up to v2.01. My question is to all you experienced TMPG masters outthere which version is now the best that I should concentrate on using. Version 12d was locking occasionally on me when I was trying to split a mpeg stream into two to burn and does the new versions address this problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Davo

    I am using version 2.01.
I does not lock on me, and (in my humble opinion) is the most stable of all the versions.
Please note that every version is an improvement of a previous version. At least; it should be.
To check which improvements have been made for all versions, please check the TMPGEnc website.

  3. I am using TMPG v2.01, and sometime I get memory read error with kernel32.dll, If I try 4-5 time, or restart program couple of time, it sometime works, but no guarantee.

    Any resolution.

  4. ShiZZZoN-

I have tmpgenc v 2.01 and 2.02 and i was encoding a movie the other day and they both crashed in an address module.
I was unable to get 2.02 to work but 2.01 finally fixed itself.
It seems as if the newer improvements are like running in a natural environment running very fragile. The slightest mistake and it crashes.

    One thing though-
I am trying to encde 3 mov clips in tmpgenc v 2.01 and 2.02(tried both) and when i do, i get an illegal floating point error. Now i know that means bad frames, but when i play it in quicktime player, it plays fine. Although i would note that all 3 mov's are using 60 fps. This is not good i know, but cannot encode.
Anyone know how to fix? oh by the way, i ran tests and checkers on those movs and there are illegal floating point errors all over the clips, not just in 1 spot

  6. I use 2.01 with no problems on MJPEG and Huffy encoded files. I do get Kernel32 crashes when working with DV type-1 files, but they diminish when I slow down my mouse clicks. I usually can't get through any batch sessions without it crashing, so that is a pain.

I don't use V2.5 or above since that version absolutely won't accept type-1 DV files.
