That bit too. I just love that movie, I rank it as one of my all time favourites. Might go buy it on DVD tomorrow actually.

Since that programme (<-- look how I spelled it ) is on UK television won't the scene where Dawn comes back into the office and kisses Tim or even when she's in the cab and opens up the set of paints with the picture she drew of him and a note saying "never give up"? I didn't think those writers could do drama so well but that was about the best ending to a series I'd seen since MASH (the TV series) ended.

Oh how could I forget MASH! Man I loved that show. Several of those episodes had me on the edge of tears. The saddest being the episode where Col. Blake goes home and at the end Radar comes into the OR to tell everyone that his plane was shot down and everyone aboard died and they all had to keep going on with surgery with tears in their eyes. I'm sure that'll be up there in that program.

  4. How about Terms of Endearment?
    Yes, Radio. Also, Sweet November.
Heck, even the end of Jack Frost.
Oh yeah, Denzel going down to die at the end of Man On Fire too. Titanic maybe?
It's usually at the end of the film isn't it? Not always, but mostly.

How about Sophies Choice, when she has to decide between her 2 children, which one will live.

I can't believe the series finale of Blackadder made the list at 13. I liked it but sure as hell didn't cry. E.T. at #1 is well deserved.

The best part of the whole movie is when the ship starts to sink.

I was not talking about Leonardo.

The most action is when the ship sank.

If we were speaking of the saddest moment in Titanic it was when they put that awful score to it
Actually I thought the image of the string quartet playing on deck and going down with the ship the most moving part. The rest of the movie I couldn't give a **** about. Most triflingly annoying movie EVAR.

What about the old couple lying in bed together?
    His name was MackemX

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend?

I just remembered a sports tear jerker. The Cub playoff game when Brent Brown dropped the ball in left field. That might have been more of a shock then a tear jerker.

  17. This is a great thread for me since I am a huge baby since my son was born. Since that day, I cry at everything. Even those lame ass "long distance call your mom" commercials get me. Its unreal.

So, lets just go from before this time

The one that gets me everytime is "Of Mice and Men" when George kills Lenny. I read that book in grade 8 or 9 with probably the best teacher I have ever had. I read books in school before and it was purely acedemic. But this guy, he brought the book alive. Its almost like he wrote it, thats how much passion was behind it. Anywho, when I finally saw the movie it really hit home. Not only was the scene itself very well done, but thinking back to my school days really made me sob for like an hour.

Another one is "The Mask" with Cher, Sam Elliot and Eric Stoltz. I saw it when I was about 14. Not sure why, but it was a really great story. I cant STAND Cher but I think she played the part really well.

Actually, "The Mask" with Jim Carey made me cry as well .. because the movie was so god awful lol

This one is a chick flick, but the end of Steel Magnolias when Julia Roberts' character dies and Sally Fields' character loses it. When I first saw it, I thought it was really well done and I teared a little. I watched it after my son was born and I now know what she is feeling. Because I myself am unsure if I could live with the loss of losing him.

Going to get a tissue now ....

    LG

Agreed. I've been fascinated about the Titanic as a ship and the tragedy that happened since I was a kid. I felt like the movie cashed in on the tragedy just to sell tickets. Nothing new in Hollywood, I'm wondering how soon we'll have movies about 9/11

    The best part is when DeCaprio slips off the debris and slowly sinks into the dark cold depths;
