I have burned a few VCDs. My DVD player plays the video without any problems, but the audio has a very bad crackle. I've have tried ripping the audio track before converting the file to mpg, but this didn't help. It could be a hardware or a media problem. Has anybody had similar situation?

Thanks. I tracked the sound to a hardware problem, but once I fixed it, I noticed that the VCDs encoded with tooLAME sounded much better than the old ones.
