  1. this is kind of strange i had any problems of this kind since i started using this great softwear. but recently when i creat a dvd ffmpeg with 0.0.9s i sometime get a video_ts and audio _ts folder other times just the ac3, mpg and mpv files but no dvd folder???? kind of strange seeing as i havent changed anything from what i was doing previously.

anyone have any ideas while its selectively creating dvd folders and what can i do to rectify the prob.

    thanks

  2. This could be linked to spaces or special characters in paths, disk names or filenames.

  3. well, the this problem is still going on...the type of avi file im having problems with have the following names:

    chu.xvid.qix.avi

    Friedkin On Fukasaku.BS.avi

The Killer Must Kill Again Uncut.By.ferox.avi

The Yakuza Papers Disc 4 Police Tactics (1974) Kinji Fukasku.BS.avi

    i renamed one

    Sukeban.Guerilla.avi

    but had the same problem.

what should i do? if i need to rename them how do i do it properly and what should i call them?

    thanks for any advice.

  4. Try to drag and drop the file to Terminal.app. You will obtain the path for the file. Please copy and paste it back to me for inspection.

  5. sorry if this is a stupid question but where do i find the terminal.app? i only saw `open terminal window` under the tools bar and not sure how to use that function.

    thanks again

  6. Terminal.app is inside /Applications/Utilities.

  7. ok, thanks...

  8. This shows that there are still many special characters in your paths, like the "`" in the folder "AVI`s", as well as many spaces. You should remove them all and substitute with safe characters like letters or "_" signs. The same applies to the destination paths.

  9. thanks gave that a try and it helped with two of the avi files however some of them still no go...

    terminal info:
    [marques-mikes-Computer:~] marquesm% /Volumes/Untitled/Bird.avi /Volumes/Untitled/AVI/Sukeban\ Guerilla/Sukebanguerilla.avi /Volumes/Untitled/AVI/School/schoolofthenundevil.avi

also, on some of the encoded dvds ive been getting some glitchy lines accross the dvd. this only seems to appear on the external player and plays fine on apple dvd....could this been an encoding problem cause it seems to only happen with some dvds?

    thanks again for the help

  10. In fact the path which should not contain spaces or special characters is the destination path (that is, the location where you're creating the DVD).

About the playback problem, this could be a high bitrate peak that your player can't handle (use mpeg2enc in that case) or a burning issue.

  11. I've had a few problems like this when importing files from my PC system. I'm new to the mac so excuse me if this next question is a little stupid.

If the video_ts and audio _ts folder aren't created in the folder path, where do they go? Do they become temp files lost in the system or are they never created?

    Thanks for any advice.

  12. They are directly created in the destination folder path, or never created.
