Making credit movies on a dvd slide show

What program or programs can I use to make credit movies. Such as Happy Birthday and have it fade in or scroll across the screen. I am doing a picture slide show on a dvd and need to put little credits about the pictures. Thanks for any help. I was able to use Windows Movie Maker, but it would always have a blue background. I cant figure out how to change the background color to black.

Try Wax2 from debugmode, although WMM should handle what you need pretty well. Try the Help files for colour changing.
