I had a hell of a time backing this movie up for my wife. I tried DVDDecrypter, VStrip, Smartripper, VOBBlanker, DVDShrink.....and nothing. They all choked on VTS_03_3.VOB

I finally got it to work with DVDDecrypter by making one simple adjustment in the options and it worked like a charm. Just go to Tools... Settings... and on the I/O tab choose "Ignore Read Errors"

Hopefully this will work for you too.

If anyone is wondering, the version of DVDDecrypter I used is the newest one - v 3.5.2.0

He had a problem, he fixed it, he posted a method for fixing it in case others had the same problem. Jees - people complain when others don't post the solution to their problems, but when this guy does, all you do is rag on him.

I don't know what jdizzy40's problem is, as this is proper forum.

Glad you solved your problem, especially with out coming here before you spent some effort on it. And thanks for sharing your results. If everyone kept quiet, no one would come here.

  7. I had no problems backing it up with AnyDVD. It's a very good looking movie, on par with Seabiscuit.

So back to the original topic...

Dude, I think your copy of the Notebook was defective - mine had NO protection on it beyond regular CSS. At least, not on the widescreen side. I didn't check the fullscreen side!

Edit: Just checked the fullscreen side - ALSO no protection!

So I think maybe your disc was scratched or bad... just a thought!

(Note - your profile indicates you're in the USA, so I presume we're talking about the same Region1 disc.)
