Does anyone know which LCD makers offer a Zero dead pixel guarantee?
I've heard of such things but I can't find any mention of it on the shopping sites.

I also need a LCD with D-SUB and DVI inputs than can be used at the same time, and switched between at will.

    Any recemendations? (17")

Samsung is doing it, unfortunately only in South Korea http://www.forbes.com/infoimaging/feeds/infoimaging/2004/12/30/infoimagingasiapulse_20...333-0197-.html

Other than that, I don't know of any LCD manufactures that offer a zero dead pixel guarantee, though on a 17" or bigger screen, I doubt you could find a dead one easily, anyway.

Try looking for an ACER 1731 . For the pixel i don't think you'll find any constructor that insurance no pixel death.

    Bingo.
I have a mini-ITX system that I use as a file host on my wireless LAN, and it runs seti@home 24/7.
It has a D-SUB video port, and my new Radeon for the main PC has digital. So I want to avoid changing cables over.
I have found a few that have both ports, but only one that can switch between without removing the digital cable. But it gets a bad review for response time.

Italic: I will look at Acer. I'm surprised I didn't think of them sooner, I have an Acer notebook (Ferrari 3000) and the screen on it is first class.

Just had a look at the Acer website. For some reason, the models with dual inputs all have bad response times.
The AL1931M even has s-video and RCA composites as well as d-sub and dvi....but a response time of 25ms puts me off. Shame.
