    When i run my virus scanner i keep getting this file coming up but i cannot be deleted by the program and was wondering if this file is meant to be there, it is in the WINDOWS/system32 folder and is labelled mac80ex.idf

    Try running it from safe mode. Of manually deleting it form there.

  4. It's not a virus it's adware. Use a tool like AdAware or microsofts Anti-Spyware Beta to clean it in the safest possible way if you are scared to delete it manually. (not sure if it effects anything myself. I've never gotten this one) I think it has something to do with Bargain Buddy adware.

    Speaking of MS spyware cleaner. I installed it, but don't see a way to start the thing. What up with that?

  6. are you sure you installed the Anti-spyware or did you install the Malicious software removal tool through windows update? The later one downloads every week or so and runs once on download. The actual Anti-spyware beta sets in your system tray all the time with active shields running and has an interface much like other spyware tools.
