  1. i just converted a file the was 20min (TV show) long and when the file was at its end it would just keep converting the end. i had to spot it so the mpg does not get any bigger. why is it doing this and how can i spot it?

  2. I would gues the source file has VBR MP3 audio. Do a forum search for 'VBR audio' as this is discussed frequently

Tmpgenc has one weakness and that is VBR MP3, If I add a file with this type of audio into Xpress for example it'll give wild results for length. it'll think a 30 minute show is 90 - 120 or minutes long. It's reading the audio length wrong. Same thing is happening in Plus which is what I suspect you are using. It just keeps running until it reaches the length based on the audio. for that type of file do this

    open in Virtualdub, cancel the warning about VBR Audio, in streams demux the audio to a wave file. then choose disable for the audio and save the video as a direct stream copy, . under video choose direct stream copy under file choose save as a new file name and save. Then in TMPGenc Plus add the avi as video then add the wave as audio.

    There is more details with pictures in the guides. Unfortunately I do not recall which one, you'll have to search.

    Or if you have mainconcept encoder I believe it'll handle the oddball audio.
