I'm thinking of getting an IPOD, and I have a question about how its used. I have my entire cd colletion on my computer, but I don't use iTunes. I just have the files in a folder and use winamp to play them. My question is, is the IPOD like other mp3 players (iriver forexample), you just use the included software to take songs from computer, or do they need to be downloaded from iTunes?

the itunes software will search your computer for mp3 files and put them on the ipod for you.

one thing that kinda sucks about itunes/ipod is that it requires id3 tags.. well it doesnt exactly require them, but it wont sort them very well on the ipod unless they've got id3 tags.

i think there are some other 3rd party applications that will allow you to put them on the ipod.. you'll have to look around the net.. check out ipodlounge.com
