  1. Hi again!

Well, I dont know if other ppl are aware of this.
But i did some tests with:

    ProCoder 2.0
    and
    CCE 2.7

2 pass and highest possible quality settings on both.

I got 6:30h of encode time on ProCoder 2.0
    and
I got 6:00h of encode time on CCE 2.7

    CPU is Athlon 64 3400+
    HDD is WD Raptor SATA150

    Very impressive i must say.

Can some other Athlon64 user confirm this "almost equal" speed in CCE x ProCoder under Athlon64???

    Tkz!

  3. Just to add some info:

-OS is 32bit of course wxp sp2

-Like i said, procoder and cce on the highest quality mode, so that means procoder was on "mastering" setting.

    And so is the encoders..

Does anybody know of any encoder software that's gonna utilize 64bit instruction sets??

  5. There are none... and even if there is one, you'll need to install the 64bit version of Windows first.

I would guess the O.S's will get on board pretty fast. But for now, the bigger picture is what ramifications will 64 bit technology have ?!?
Could it be possible to edit, colour correct, stack multiple layers on a Premiere timeline, and output MPEG2 faster than realtime??

I am not by no means a computer whiz, but the speed that can potentially be created, will probably do away with Matrox, Pinnacle, Canopus etc...

    I can't wait..

there is not a huge diffrence really, not as much as what you think -- i have been using 64bit cpus since for about 7-8 years .. will not do away with anybody ...
