  1. I usally buy my media from Supermedia store, but they have been out since last month, and will not be getting any more until the end of the month.

I use the DVD-R 8x hub printable taiyo yuden.

    Any help would be great.

Huh? I placed an order for 100pk of white inkjet hub printable 8X DVD-R TYs from SMS on Monday & received them yesterday. After months of getting erratic results with Ritek G05s & Prodisc S04s (S03s were my favs), I'm finally relieved to have awesome quality media. The scans from these TYs are absolutely beautiful. The extra cost for this media is worth it for the ease of mind.

  5. I'm actually in the (sort of) opposite situation... I am trying to find TY NON-hub printable white DVD-R. I had to order a pack of silver ones from rima.com, because they told me all the TY white inkjet printables from now on will all be hub-printable. But I will check Google anyway to see if I can still hunt some down.

This may be a totally stupid question, but what exactly does "no stacking ring" mean? I had always thought it was referring to the plastic hub part of the disc; but I'm seeing some sites advertising non-hub printables as having no stacking rings. I am a tad confused...

The stack ring is a little ring around the hub area that is raised higher than the rest of the disc surface and is useful for keeping the discs from sticking together in spindles. As far as I know all CD and DVD recordable media have stack rings on the dye side, but not all have one on the top. Printable media usually don't have a stack ring on the top.

  7. I've always had great service from www.shop4tech.com , plus they offer free shipping.. I'v never ordered taiyo_yuden's from there yet as I have always gone with Riteks, but I might change soon since I saw some digital glitches in my a few of my last burns during playback and everyone seems to say these taiyo_yuden's are great. So anyway I saw that shop4tech has them.

  8. Another choice which I've had really good luck with is tapeandmedia.com. They have the 100 pack for $81 and they are in stock. I've ordered from them and they are quick and efficient. I don't want to talk you out of TYs because they are great, but I could recommend the Verbatim 8x hub-printables. I've bought two 50 disc packs and have only made a couple of coasters (and those might have been my fault). They are on .73 each in units of 50 (so $73 for 100). Of course is you REALLY buy in bulk the price on either of these go down .02 each if you purchase 600 or more.[/url]
