I'm in a real bind. I copied some of my older (1981) VSH tapes of my mother (now deceased) to DVD and now the VSH tape is useless. I want to edit the clips and correct the noisey sound with Soundsoap2 but the DVD files are VOB and Pinnacle will not accept this file type. I do not want to loose quality by recapture or recompression. Is there any way to convert the VOB to MP2 or digital wrapped AVI that will work with Pinnacle?
By the way, the new version of Pinnacle 9.3 with their patch is wonderful. They have almost eliminated the routine crashes. Also Soundsoap has been fixed in ver 2, and it is the best sound fixer I've ever used.

1. Start TMPGEnc. (If the Wizard opens, cancel it.)
2. Click Files/MPEG TOOLS.

4. In the "Type" pulldown, select MPEG-2 Program (VBR).
5. Locate the elementary Audio & Video Streams.
6. Name your Output file.
7. Click Run.
Other people may have other ideas using the same (or different) tools, but this is what always works best for me. (If I missed a step or two, I'm sure you'll figure it out.)
Good Luck!
