50 spindle Taiyo Yuden fr Rima.com

I've been reading alot of good things about Rima.com & the taiyo yuden DVDs. I purchased a 50 pk. form Rims -Rs, Ihave been having good luck with the Maxel(made in Japan) & Sonys, but i wanted to try the taiyo yidens since there's bee alot of good feedback on them. My first DVD out the pack went good, after that, 5 bad ones in the row.?? So i through one of my Maxels back in, and it recorded fine. I guess i'll try a few more tiyo yudens just to see, But has people received spindles where they had trouble with???

Which burner do you have? What are the Media codes for the TY's?

My Machine(Sony Hx-900)is new, & i don't have trouble with the Maxel,or Sonys, I just wanted to try another good media???These are doing the same thing the spindle of Memorexs were doing, But i came right behind & Burned Maxels, & sonys??? Is it that certain machines like certain Media??

TY media wasn't very good with my Sony burners, but they worked great with the Pioneers. Frankly my Sonys aren't very reliable. I blame Sony.

TY perfoms flawlessly for me. Isn't Sony a rebagged Lite-on, which prefers +R media?

I have been having trouble with TY a little bit. I have gotten about 3 or 5 bad burns lately. But here's the funny thing: I only get them when I burn with CloneDVD burning a video_ts folder. I use DvdDecrypter for images and ISO's and don't get bad burns. The thing is, I have never had a problem with CloneDVD until I got this last batch of TY's. I am sure CloneDVD is the problem, but why all of a sudden?

Nero worked fine for me for hundreds of burns, then one day it decided the burner buffer wasn't going to work anymore. I tried reinstalling twice, I even tried reinstalling the OS, nothing worked. I use Decrypter now and the buffer works fine. I'd like to know why it quit working all the sudden too.

he is having problems with a tvset dvd recorder not a pc dvd burner.....i am not sure if Sony is actually manufacturing their own tv set dvd recorders although we all know their pc dvd burners are rebadged Liteon drives.......some recorders will write better to certain brands of media because of the firmware.....if maxell and sony works well with your sony tv set dvd recorder than use those.....if you know anyone who uses TY media with their dvd burners you could sell it to them...

Nice call budz. I missed it as well as others. I have had lots of trouble with Panasonic's "no new firmware" policy. I guess when I run out of my current stock I will have to quit burning.

Yes Budz, It is a stand alone New Sony DVD recorder. Again , i realize that ,why not stick with what works, I just had heard so much good things about TY, that i wanted to see if there was another media that would work also & the TY are not liking my Sony.I just posted this to try and learn more, to see if i was missing something.
