  1. Hi,

Me again in the "wonderful" world of camera searching. Before I was looking for a XM2, but as I couldn't find a used one for an affordable price, I now found the Panasonic GS-200 which should be a new model and priced around 900-1000 US dollars. Counting that it has 3x 800.000 pixels of recording resolution and that Panasonic shouldn't be a too bad manufacturer, what do you think of this camera? We are wanting to get going towards more professional video production, but we need a cheaper camera to get started. How is the dark shooting compared to XM2 and for example the quality of the picture while filming some sunny beach compared to XM2 and other professional cameras? Do you think the picture of GS-200 would be acceptable by TV stations? Can I connect an additional audio adapter to that camera for extra microphones (radio mikes exmpl.)?

Checking out this review and the demo movie in the very end it doesnt seem to be very bad. http://www.dvspot.com/reviews/panasonic/pv_gs200-review/index.shtml

    Thanks a lot!

The GS-200 is a great consumer camcorder. If you can afford it, the GS-400 is a more serious "semi-prosumer" camcorder.

TV stations can accept any MiniDV tape, depending on the purpose.

For audio, Beacktek is well known for adapting line level pro audio gear and wireless adapters to consumer camcorders
