I've noticed that Mozilla Firefox doesn't loads about 60% to 75% of the images on pages with a lot of images. If I load the page with IE, with everthing else the same, all the images usually load.

If I hit reload, the some of the images that didn't load will load and others that loaded the first time will not load.

I was getting around 50% before I changed my Ad Blocking setting (under privacy) in Zonealarm from High to Medium. Even before that change I was still getting around 100% in IE.

I got Mozilla Firefox configured to load all images. Any other tweaks or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the Sun Micro systems java support plug-in ... It puts a coffee cup icon in my system tray whenever it's used ... which isn't that often.

Maybe I do need some other plugin but it appears to be a page loading issue to me.

Again, I'm having problems fully loading pages that contain a large number of images. If I view the same page in IE it usually loads completely. An example of one page that I have trouble fullying loading in Mozilla / Firefox is www.foxnews.com. It's like the page stops loading too soon ... is there some tweak that makes that time longer?

rkr1958, have you tried loading in a new profile then checking the site? May be a conflict with an extension or something. Also, what version of Firefox are you using? I'm using the 1.0 and have no problems loading foxnews.com

    Hope this helps

There are many ways to measure success. You just have to find your own yardstick.

  5. Are you using the "Tweak Network Settings" extension on "power"? Or something similar to "speed up" Firefox?

Perhaps the problem is that Firefox is trying to load too many images simultaneously and some items are timing out. I get a similar problem with I use the "Tweak Networks Setting" extension on "power" on a dial-up connection.

    Regards.

No, I don't think so. I'm not sure what this is ... I've got broadband, not dialup.

I think this is the crux of the problem. I went back, under "about:config" and reset most everything back to the default value. I also tried some tweaks that I read about to speed it up. Last night that seem to help ... the www.foxnews.com page loading went from 75% to around 95%. This morning it's 100%. I do think, when I'm having problems something is timing out. If it gets back enough I can always load the page in IE, but I'm hook on Mozilla / Firefox and as long as I'm getting 90%+ loading I'll stick with it.

Thanks again for all the advice.

P.S. I'd seen the Mozilla / Firefox tweaks list here but couldn't remember the post. I did a google and found this http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1299854/posts The one difference though was the addition of a new variable "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" (an integer set to 0) which did seem to help. It got me from 75% to 95% last night and 100% this morning.
