I finally got around to testing out my AIW 9600 & JVC SR-V101US last night. All I had time to do is start up the TV section in MMC and hit play on my VCR for a quick preview. Ultimately, the audio and video were way out of sync.

I'm not worried about this just yet since I haven't done any computer optimization, and I used a poor quality tape (been recorded over a couple of times).

What I am wondering as I sit here at work, is if the AIW preview window is a good indicator of how a capture will turn out...since I am seeing sync problems with this tape when VIEWING and not recording it on my PC, when I DO record & then play that file back, will I see exactly what I saw in the preview window?

    Yes.

Use ATI MMC 8.7 if you have issues.
It is most stable. Start from there.

Thanks. In order to use MMC 8.7, do you know if I need to unistall my current (new) version of DAO/MDAC and revert to the (older) version listed under the CATALYST 3.9 section of their driver page?
