  1. Using DVD-LAB PRO 1.00 Build 041014

I'm trying to build a simple DVD no menu just an auto playing movie. I have m2v, ac3, streams and importing a srt for the subtitles. Everything seems to work as it should. I can test the compiled DVD in power DVD 5 and it works just fine. BUT, when I burn the disc and try it in a step-top DVD I get no subtitles. The first (and only) subtitle stream is forced on but no subs are displayed. Manually selecting the subtitles doesn't change my results either.

Thanks in advance for the help.

  2. That's weird...
I do that all the time that with subtitles and I do exactly what you said you also do.
You say after compling the DVD in DVD-Lab Pro, you watch the results in PowerDVD and it works fine? You said you forced the subtitles in DVD-Lab and they appear in PowerDVD?? Well, I think everything's alright...maybe the problem is with your TV and/or your standalone DVD.
Why don't you try in other standalone or other TV?
    ..thoughts arrive like butterflies..

  3. Yeah works fine in Power DVD. Tried it in 4 different DVD players, no subtitles on any of them.

  4. Are there any screenshots I can post of anything to provide info to help solve my problem?

I really don't want to have to re-encode the m2v stream with hardcoded subtitles.

  5. Don't you love it when you solve your own problem?

I tried upgrading to the latest DVD-Lab Pro. That didn't help at all.

So heres the deal. My subtitles were coming from a .srt file that I was importing, and then generating the sub stream in DVD-Lab Pro. For whatever reason DVD-Lab Pro wasn't replacing the imported srt with the sp1 that it generates! So I deleted the sub stream from the srt import, and replaced it with the sp1 generated by DVD-Lab Pro and now my DVD has working subtitles!

    Hot and Damn!
