  1. Is there a s/w which can convert a VCD to avi file WITHOUT audio video sync prob??? I've tried Dr. DivX but the results r terrible. Tried Virtualdub...work fine if the file is loaded (it give some packet error while loading many files).
    Donno what to do. plz suggest some good s/w. BTW I'm using XVid codecs.

    what do you mean, works fine with virtualdub if the file is loaded.

    Demux your VCD dat files with TMPGEnc first, and then create your avi file with VirtualDub.

    Search Comp PM
    Extract mpg from VCD with VCDGear. Encode to AVI with VirtualDub. That's about it.
    But don't expect miracles - VCD is lowest tolerable quality to begin with - reencoding to AVI will only make it even worse.

    while loading the .dat/.mpg file in the VirtualDub I recieve PacketSync error and the file does not gets loaded...IF it loads then I know how to convert.

    R there ne other good video encoders???
