Video Avatars

Im looking for a software that I was told can take small clips and make them in to avatars by saving them as .gif, but I cant find any prog that does that. Any help???

Well mplayer for a start. Just use -vo gif89a. There are also heaps of other apps, Gif construction set, 2D/3D animator, fireworks, etc. If you search google or a place like download.com you should find plenty of apps that can do what you want.

windows own paint program will save as gif.

Before I started using Macromedia's Fireworks, I use to use MS Paint to resize and convert my screen captures and then use UnFREEz to make the animated gif. A little cumbersome, but for freeware it did the job.
