I have a backed up dvd, and its the only one I have. Its not a movie or anything, its compiled videos of random things... well, I need a copy of it. I've tried everything to copy it. Nero, Dvd decryptor, smart ripper.. they all fail and give read errors.. the disk plays fine, and there aren't any scratches on the dvd. I don't understand? any thoughts? Thx

  4. If you haven't tried this already, try reading it in the drive that burned it (ie: your burner). I've had media that reads with errors but pop it back into the burner rather than DVD-ROM and the burner reads it OK. Get it off that media QUICK.

I just had a similar problem as yours. Try ripping the disc with VOB BLANKER. I had a disc that had complied footage of camcorder tapes converted via a liteon dvd recorder. My friend had not finalized the disc but when he did it wouldn't playback on any dvd player. I couldn't rip the disc with decrypter or dvdshrink to even read the disc. I used VOB BLANKER to rip which was successful then used DVD SHRINK with no compression and then burned with NERO BURN.

If you're going to use NERO DISC COPY make sure your read speed is double of your dvd burner speed.
